We are posting this notice to inform our community members of the Boards decision to close the pool for the remainder of the year. The Board did not come to this decision lightly. There have been numerous tele meetings and conference calls with the pool company before the decision was made. The Board waited until the last minute before making this decision.

Some of the restrictions that went into the decision-making process are outlined below.

  1. Social distancing will have to be enforced. Additional manpower will need to be hired to accomplish this.
  2. People may be asked to bring their own furniture (unless you have a person dedicated to sanitizing furniture on a frequent basis, this frequency has not been outlined by the health department at this time). All heavily touched surfaces will also have to be cleaned frequently. This includes the restrooms and door handles.
  3. Restrooms will be limited to how many people may use them at the same time and they will also have to be cleaned frequently.
  4. Any of these restrictions that will take the lifeguards’ attention away from the pool will have to be done when there are no bathers, or they will have to be handled by someone else. The pool company has made it clear to us that they will not be performing the extra tasks.

After speaking to the pool company, and seeing the restrictions, it does not seem financially feasible for us to open for the community. However, we are still working with the pool management company, and their maintenance staff to maintain necessary routine maintenance. While I understand this is a major upset, your Board along with input from the pool company, do not really see any other way around it.
